VILLAGE ASSISTED BY PTK SPS UNY STUDY PROGRAM WINS INDONESIAN TOURISM VILLAGE AWARD

One of the villages assisted by UNY's PTK SPs Study Program, Segajih Village, won the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) from the Ministry of Tourism. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said this achievement was the first in Indonesia. "I'm rechecking this, but I think this is the first time I've visited a district that has won ADWI for three consecutive years," Sandi said when visiting Hargotirto Tourism Village, Kapanewon Kokap, Kulon Progo, Monday (29/5/2023).

Previously, on August 6-7, 2022, mapping the potential of tourist villages or villages in developing the creative economy at the Segajih hamlet, Hargotirto sub-district, Kulon Progo. This agenda is a follow-up to the FGD with the Regent of Kulon Progo on January 24, 2022, to implement research and service schemes at the Kulon Progo Vocational Village Laboratory. The PPs UNY Postgraduate Team consists of Prof. Dr. Putu Sudira, M.P., as Chair with members Prof. Pardjono, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Moch Bruri Triyono, M.Pd., Septiono Eko Bawono, M.T., Widodo, M.Pd., Yoga Sahria, M.Pd., Nur Kholifah, M.Pd., and Tinesa Fara Prihandini, S.Pd. The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) meeting was attended by tourism village managers, homestay managers, artisans and culture, and Segajih hamlet.

Currently, the PTK Study Program is formulating the Science of Rural Vocational Education as the uniqueness of the TVET world and planning for the Digitalization of Tourism Villages on various platforms. Virtual Tour, Tourism booking application, Tourism potential information, travel assistance, strengthening foreign languages (English, Japanese, French, Italian, Arabic, etc.). PPM PTK Study Program immediately scheduled English language training and tour guide training.
Sandiaga also explained that tourist villages in Kulon Progo have always been included in the category of the best tourist villages based on the ADWI assessment for the last three years. The first was achieved by Tinalah Tourism Village in Purwoharjo, Samigaluh, in 2021. The following year, it was Widosari Tourism Village in Ngargosari, Samigaluh. The 2023 ADWI award went to Segajih Tourism Village in Hargotirto, Kokap.

"It's extraordinary. In my opinion, this is the achievement of the team, not only Mr. Joko's team (Head of Kulon Progo Dispar), but if we look at the tourist village, the assessment has 360 degrees of assessment aspects.
