QURAN RECITAL AND IFTAR OF UNY GRADUATE SCHOOL: A LESSON OF HEART

The feeling of warmth and unity fills the Theater Room of UNY Graduate School as Quran recital and iftar was held. The event was opened by the Director of UNY Graduate School as he welcomed all guests and participants.

Dr. Muhsin Kalida, S.Ag., M.A., M.Pd., an expert in religion and education gave deep talk about the importance of spiritual lesson in early ages. Dr. Muhsin explained that the true dignity of humanity lies in the heart.

“The heart,” said Dr. Muhsin, “is the controller of our desire. It is important to take care of our heart. The Javanese saying ‘Ilmu otak atik gathuk’ is not just a thought, but it has deeper meaning which reminds us our relation with others as well as with God.”

“That philosophy,” he continued, “is not just a saying, but a guidance that leads our steps. In our life, we can hold onto that as an example for ourself and others.”

Not only for knowledge, through this event, members of UNY Graduate School were able to strengthen and deepen their bonds. The event then continues with iftar.

Director of UNY Graduate School expressed his appreciation for all the attending guests and thanked Dr. Muhsin Kalida for the talk. “I hope that what we got today will be valuable for all of us,” he said.

With peace and excitement, the event then closed with prayer.
