GENERAL LECTURE AT NANYANG POLYTECHNIC SINGAPORE AND RESEACH METHODOLOGY COLLOQIUM AT TUN HUSSEIN ONN UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA 2023

In 2023, a General Lecture program was held at Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore, and a Research Methodology colloquium at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Collaboration between the State University of Yogyakarta with Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. This program was attended by eight doctoral students of Technology and Vocational Education from the Graduate School of Yogyakarta State University. The program's implementation lasted for four effective days, from 31 July to 03 August 2023.

The General Lecture at Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, and the Research Methodology Colloquium at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia were to broaden the understanding of Technology and Vocational Education doctoral students about current trends in education and research methodology. The methods applied in these activities included expert presentations, interactive discussions, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and exploration of practical contexts. Issues discussed include the changing paradigm of education in the digital era, curriculum adaptation to meet the needs of the 21st century, the application of technology in learning, and the identification of effective research methods. Technology and Vocational Education doctoral students are expected to gain a deep understanding of innovative approaches to learning and relevant current research techniques.

Through these two activities, doctoral students of Technology and Vocational Education are expected to develop critical and analytical thinking, as well as collaboration skills needed in the world of education and research. In addition, doctoral students of Technology and Vocational Education are expected to apply their understanding of real contexts in designing more interactive and technology-based teaching and planning more holistic and community-oriented research. By exploring new concepts and more inclusive approaches in education and applying appropriate research methodologies, doctoral students of Technology and Vocational Education can improve the quality of education and scientific contributions.
