A Guide to Getting Published

“Emerald Publishing is one of the first leading digital publishers in the world, commissioning, curating, and presenting research which can make a real difference,” began Irwan Sukardi, Business Manager of Emerald Publishing Indonesia on the Webinar A Guide to Getting Published which was held by PPs UNY Publication. "Currently we are working with thousands of universities and business schools around the world to share knowledge and accommodate everything about publications that lead to positive change," added Irwan.

In his remarks, the Director of PPs UNY, Prof. Dr. Suyanta. M.Si. expressed that the Publication contributes to University rankings. “Students are required to be able to publish in indexed journals. Graduate School students, either Masters or Doctoral, are expected to be able to boost journal writing. Make the best use of this training and inquire as many questions about international publications as possible to the speakers who have been invited,” Suyanta further said.

Irwan explained that when writing a journal, choose a topic which corresponds to your journal. Look for any journals that match the topic. "Don't choose the wrong category because it can hold up the publication for months." On average, language problems are a hurdle for most students in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the most common obstacle when publishing is being rejected. "Never give up when rejected, because everyone must have felt at least one rejection by the publisher." (ant)
